Yes there are several groups under-represented in cabinet and in government in general. I didn't know the fig was less than 1%...(not my area of expertise) I guess I thought in this day in age the first should have been done already. But then I'm glad to see he's made more of an effort to at least represent regions rather than just the rural vote... which is probably what got him in as party leader in the first place. I don't have the election stats at hand but I'm glad to see cabinet is a bit more balanced (all PC ...but still a better mix of people nonetheless).

Erica, noted, but less than 1% of Alberta is "black." I think if reflecting diversity is on the table there should be Chinese and Punjabi cab members as priorities, not to mention native people.

PC 72 Liberals 9 NDP 2 Common Sense 0. Of course the same people who didn't bother to vote will complain bitterly for the next 4 years. I agree Eddie is a bit left of centre but he has a long way to go before I ever cast a ballot for him. Have you seen Eddie's cabinet? Diversity or tokenism?? Breakfast TV is reporting Lindsay (forget his last name) as the first black cabinet member. It's 2008...this should not be a first imho.
