Along the lines of your commentary, I frequent the same Second City location (it's a convenience thing; also, there are always tables available). One time I had a quite decent Americano there. So I thought, well, this is looking up... unfortunately, on subsequent visits to the same location, had only very mediocre results... The point is, I think you are right - it's all the barista. Or mostly. Which would make it quite different from many other food items, right? I’m happy about the return to spring too… although it does seem like there is a lot of variability…
