I don’t know how we survived as long as we did without Wii. But that nightmare is over.
Another nightmare over: Our hot water heater crapped out last Saturday night, wouldn’t stop filling and leaked all over the place. After nursing it for several hours and trying to somehow stanch the leaking coming for all over (but especially the bottom), making use of the SHAMWOW! sheets bought at last summer’s Stampede, I just emptied the tank (via about 30 bucketfuls of water) and made the repair call first thing Sunday morn. Had to get a replacement, so with the emergency call and a little extra work (new chimney flashing, and we also now finally have a digital thermostat installed), it was $2800 put to good use. I’m actually happy about it- the water heater was on its last legs (it was 16 years old), and I can only shudder to imagine what would have happened if this leaking had happened with neither of us home.
Shudder.
Now- energy-efficient new hot water tank, and one less thing to worry about. It’s all good.
